Bibliography, Volume 1: Collector's Edition

The Collector's Edition for Volume 1 will be printed soon.

In this edition, we will feature a few extras images that won't be found in any other book (and probably won't be online, the only way to see them will be to see them in print). Also, this edition will have Cody Shaw's signature printed on the first page.

The volume itself will be the first 9 chapters of Bibliography.

We have begun the printing process, we are making sure the files are formatted correctly and ready to be printed. Afterwards, we will get a proof, a preliminary copy to see how everything prints. Either it will be perfect or adjustments will be made, and afterward, we will receive copies of the book, ready to be sold.

Keep checking back for more info!

Journey

I went on a journey this afternoon.

My mission: to retrieve the next page of Spectrum. It was in a far away land known as "Businesshouselandia" (all our business documents have that as our address, I swear).

As I was about to get into my car, a horrible monster made entirely of ice rained down from the sky and cackled sinisterly as it punctured my tires with icicles.

"No matter! I have rims!" I cried, as I tried to drive away. The monster laughed its icy, evil laugh again, and my car suddenly slid and decided to hug a tree.

As the jaws of life were trying to pull me away from the wreckage, I remembered that I had a mission. Inspired, I began to walk to Businesshouselandia. I knew my journey would take several days and I would venture across several hundred miles. Who knows what wonders I would see along my way? Only time would tell as I embarked on my exciting journey!

After passing a grocery store, several houses, and multiple 7-11s, I had arrived at my destination, a few hours later. I was cold, and tired, and for some reason never bothered to sit down while I was at Businesshouselandia. But I succeeded, and tomorrow you will be able to see the fruit of my (and Carl's) efforts.

The actual trip is about 5 miles according to Google maps. Then I walked 2.6 more miles in search of food. Had I not gotten a ride, I would have had to walk another 3.7 miles to get back home. Ouch. I plan on not leaving bed tomorrow. Or ever again.

Until next time!

Why do GaijinManga?

I love what we're doing. It's a great learning experience for business and for life. I want us to be a successful company and I know we can do that. Also I am an artist at heart. We produce quality manga and it's amazing to check back and see new pages on the site. It's a lot of fun and as I said earlier, that's what I'm all about.

Staff Profile 1: Jeff

Name: Jeff
GM Name: Splinter, yes, from TNMT. I'm a geek, but you may have discovered that already because I like manga.

Favorite Color: Orange
Favorite Music: Alternative Rock, Punk, Screamo
Favorite TV show: too many to name, currently enjoying West Wing and Prison Break
Favorite Movie: Probably Slumdog Millionaire

Favorite Manga: Currently Naruto
Favorite Anime: Currently Yakitate Japan

Hobbies: Writing is my most important hobby, I write longform stories, particularly novels, but serialized manga (cough cough Spectrum) also are included. I also like to cook. I play a lot of videogames and watch a lot of TV. Lesser hobbies (often neglected) include playing guitar and running.

Why do GaijinManga?

After experiencing some of what's out there in the job world, I realize that most of it simply does not appeal to me. However, the day-to-day activities required just to get our act together before Sakura-Con has been a stressful, yet rewarding process. I would love to see GaijinManga make money and I would love to be in a situation where it pays for my life and it becomes my only legitimate job. The truth is, I love manga, anime, and Japanese culture, and I love writing, and I love drawing even though I can't do that well, and I like seeing other people love these things too. I enjoy writing Spectrum and wanted it to get popular or at least seen.

Basically, it's fun, and it has variety, and it actually stimulates a lot of the parts of my brain. We're a bunch of regular young adults trying to make our way in the world the way we want to, and each day we get closer to that goal. I am proud of what I have accomplished, and I will continue to be so, and I think that is definitely hard to find in a job, so I'm grateful for what we have here.

Merchandising!

We at Gaijinmanga are currently looking into things to merchandise. We want to make quality collector's items from your favorite manga. If you have any ideas on the types of things you would like to see, feel free to contact us. Reply to this post or join our forums and post there! We currently have a few ideas specifically for Bibliography but we can't have too many ideas so if you can think of something you would like to see from any of our manga, let us know.

We do have one thing that is definitely in the works as I write this right now! A special limited edition of the first volume of Bibliography. It's a collector's item! Like I said, it's still in the works, but keep checking back because we'll let you know when the volume is available.

Hello from Splinter

Hello there. I am one of the members of the webteam at GaijinManga. Right now, I update the site every day and I try to go through and fix things, make things better, and add new pages as we get new content.

In the next few days, we are going to put character bio pages for our manga, so you can easily keep track of who everyone is.

I am also working on the archive pages. If I do it right, I will make them:
1) Print automatically
2) Include every page
3) Look a lot nicer
4) Make it so I don't have to touch them ever again. EVER.

I'm really excited about that last part. However it's not quite looking how I want it to, so it could take some time.

As always, if you have suggestions or comments, you may post them in our forum, or you can e-mail us at webmaster@gaijinmanga.com or comments@gaijinmanga.com.
